Who this policy covers
This policy applies when you visit korea4home.com, create or use an account, submit a listing or recommendation, join community features, contact another user, make an inquiry, propose a partnership, or use another Korea4Home feature that links to this policy.
Korea4Home is the personal information controller for the processing described here. Questions and rights requests can be sent to korea4home@gmail.com.
02
Personal information we process
The information we process depends on the feature you use. We aim to collect only what is reasonably necessary for that feature.
Account and profile
Email address, display name, sign-in provider identifier, profile photo, preferred region, language or other profile details you choose to provide.
Listings and community content
Listing details, recommendations, reviews, comments, forum posts, messages, photos, files, saved items, reports, and moderation history.
Contact and partnership inquiries
Name, email, phone number, organization, subject, message, proposal details, and attachments you submit through a guided form.
Orders and paid features
Order, product, amount, status, invoice and payment-reference data. A payment provider may handle payment credentials; we do not intentionally store complete card numbers.
Technical and usage information
IP address or a protected hash of it, browser and device data, session identifiers, pages viewed, searches, clicks, referral information, timestamps, and security logs.
Support and safety records
Identity or ownership evidence when needed for a claim, complaint correspondence, abuse reports, account actions, and records needed to resolve a dispute.
03
How information is collected
We collect information directly from you, automatically from your browser or device, from another user when they interact with you, and from sign-in, payment, email, map, search, storage, or security providers used to operate the service.
Fields marked as required are needed to provide the requested feature. Optional fields can be left blank, although doing so may limit the completeness or discoverability of a listing or profile.
04
Why we use personal information
We process information to perform the service you request, meet legal obligations, protect legitimate service interests, and obtain consent where consent is required.
- Create accounts, verify sign-ins, remember settings, and provide dashboards.
- Publish, search, organize, translate, verify, moderate, and improve listings and community content.
- Enable messages, saved items, alerts, inquiries, partnership proposals, orders, and support.
- Prevent fraud, spam, harassment, unsafe content, unauthorized access, and other misuse.
- Measure service performance with limited analytics and improve search relevance and usability.
- Meet accounting, consumer-protection, dispute-resolution, and lawful government-request obligations.
05
Public content and visibility
Listings, business details, recommendations, reviews, community posts, and public profile fields are intended to be visible to other users and may be indexed by search engines. Do not publish personal information that you do not want made public.
Private account fields, direct messages, unpublished form responses, and internal moderation notes are not intentionally made public. We may reformat or summarize a submission before publication and may contact you to verify it.
07
International processing and transfers
Some technology providers may operate infrastructure outside the Republic of Korea. Before making a cross-border transfer that requires notice or consent, we will identify the recipient, destination country, items transferred, purpose, timing and method, and retention period through this policy or a separate notice, and obtain consent where required.
You may contact us to ask about current processing locations or safeguards. If refusal of an optional transfer is available, we will explain how to refuse it and any resulting service limitation.
08
Retention and deletion
We keep personal information only for the period needed for the stated purpose, account operation, safety, dispute resolution, or a legal retention obligation. When retention is no longer necessary, electronic records are securely deleted or de-identified and physical records are destroyed.
Account and service content
Generally retained while the account or content remains active, then deleted or de-identified after closure unless a dispute, safety need, or law requires longer retention.
Inquiries and complaints
Retained until resolved and, where the Korean Electronic Commerce Act applies, complaint or dispute records may be retained for 3 years.
Transactions
Where applicable, contract, withdrawal, payment, and supply records may be retained for 5 years and advertising records for 6 months.
Access and security logs
Administrative account and activity records include encrypted IP addresses, browser/device information and request paths to investigate abuse and troubleshoot incidents. Access is restricted to administrators. Connection metadata expires after 90 days; event summaries may remain for account operations and dispute resolution.
10
Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, suspension of processing, withdrawal of consent, or information about certain disclosures. You may also object to direct marketing and manage available profile or notification settings.
Send a request through the Contact page or email us. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting. We will explain any lawful restriction or reason a request cannot be completed in full.
Privacy complaints may also be submitted to the Personal Information Protection Commission or another competent Korean authority.
11
Children and young users
The service is not directed to children under 14, and Korea4Home does not knowingly collect their personal information without the consent of a legal representative where required. If you believe a child has submitted information improperly, contact us so we can review and delete it.
12
Security and incident response
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to reduce unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure. Measures may include access controls, authentication safeguards, protected transmission, backups, monitoring, and staff access limits.
No online service can guarantee absolute security. If a qualifying personal information incident occurs, we will investigate, contain it, and notify affected people and authorities as required by law.
13
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the service, providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the updated date and provide additional notice for material changes when required.
