The 2025 Survey on Immigrants' Living Conditions and Labour Force reported a 65.5 percent employment-to-population ratio among resident foreigners, up 0.8 percentage points from the previous year. The number of employed foreigners rose by 99,000.
The same survey put the unemployment rate at 6.4 percent, an increase of 0.7 percentage points. Growth was especially visible among international students and people holding non-professional employment status, showing both stronger participation and continued competition for stable jobs.
A headline employment rate does not show contract quality, legal working hours, visa compatibility, housing deductions, or whether overtime is paid correctly.
