HLSI (Hankook Life Science Institute) is a science-education facility catering to elementary-age children located in Seoul, South Korea. Our International Team is looking for a new instructor with a science background. This is not an English teaching position.
Responsibilities
We teach regular classes at either of our five schools: Mokdong, Gangnam, Banpo, Jongno, and Bundang. Teachers are sometimes required to travel to teach these classes. Travel time via subway is 1 hour or less. Some travel costs are reimbursable. We have more downtime between classes than most other schools. Most weekdays, we don’t have classes. Instead, we write, edit, or prepare our class materials, along with other duties to maintain smooth operation of the department.
We teach classes on Saturdays and Sundays, so the applicant must be open to working on weekends.
SSP1 - 65 minutes (3 experiments)
SSP2 - 70 minutes (3~4 experiments)
SSP3 - 80 minutes (3~5 experiments)
*On Saturday/Sunday, you’ll teach 4~5 classes (2 in the morning; 2~3 in the afternoon)
In addition to our regular classes, we also teach winter and summer camps (4 hours) to prospective students and special classes sometimes, usually to international students. We also host SEEK camp classes for overseas students. We receive allowances for each camp.
We maintain themed science museums in each station. On occasion, teachers may be asked to lead English-language tours of these museums.
Working Hours
Weekday: 9:30am — 6:30pm
Weekend: 8:30am — 5:30pm
Days off: Mondays, 2+ weekdays, and 2 weekend days
*On two weekend days per month, you can leave one hour early.
Salary/Benefits
Salary: ₩34,000,000+ annually before taxes + camp allowances

Qualifications
BSc. & Master`s degree in science field OR Bsc. in a science field and 1 year of experience in a related field
Teaching experience or certificate
Copy of Degree (apostilled)
Sealed Transcripts
FBI Background check (apostilled)
OR
F-series (F4, F5, or F6) visa valid for at least a year from start date.
